Hypothetical Growth of $10,000

3, 4 More Information
AS OF 03/31/2014; MORNINGSTAR CATEGORY: LARGE VALUE
Shows growth of hypothetical $10,000 investment in Fidelity VIP Value Leaders fund over the selected time period

The chart illustrates the performance of a hypothetical $10,000 investment made in the fund ten years ago or on commencement of operations (whichever is later). Figures include reinvestment of capital gains and dividends, and reflect the effects of the annual annuity charge and the underlying fund's expenses. Figures do not reflect the effects of any applicable redemption fees, maintenance charges, or surrender fees, which would lower these figures. This chart is not intended to imply any future performance of the fund.

The performance data featured represents past performance, which is no guarantee of future results. Investment returns and the principal value of a variable annuity will fluctuate; therefore, you may have a gain or loss when money is withdrawn or received. Fund performance fluctuates and currently may be significantly higher or lower than stated.

Fund Overview

Objective

Seeks capital appreciation.

Strategy

Normally investing at least 80% of assets in blue chip companies (companies whose stock is included in the S&P 500 or the Dow Jones Industrial Average, and companies with market capitalizations of at least $1 billion if not included in either index). Investing in securities of companies that FMR believes are undervalued in the marketplace in relation to factors such as assets, sales, earnings, growth potential, or cash flow, or in relation to securities of other companies in the same industry (stocks of these companies are often called "value" stocks). Normally investing primarily in common stocks of well-known and established companies.

Risk

Stock markets, especially foreign markets, are volatile and can decline significantly in response to adverse issuer, political, regulatory, market, or economic developments. Foreign securities are subject to interest rate, currency exchange rate, economic, and political risks. Value stocks can perform differently than other types of stocks and can continue to be undervalued by the market for long periods of time.
